Admissions policy
Hanoi International School is a Reception through to the Grade 12, English medium, coeducational international school offering a quality education through international curricula to the expatriate community in Hanoi.

In principle, class size is held to an optimum of 20 students per class. Students are admitted any time during the academic year. The school year runs from late August until late June with vacations in the Winter and Summer. There are also one-week holidays in Spring, Autumn and for the TET festival. The academic year is divided into two semesters with two quarters each. Generally, students are placed in grades according to their age and their previous academic history. Consideration is, however, given to English language ability and physical and emotional development when grade placement decisions are made. Provision is made for students who do not speak English as a first language, either in an intensive English language class or in an ESL based academic programme. Children with special needs are accepted; if special needs are severe, parents provide assistance.
